April 12 – Chris Auchinvole, the new National Party candidate will be our guest. Members, especially those in the business community are asked to bring three business people for that evening. Damien O’Connor will be invited to another meeting. Yes – it is Election Year!
Tuesday April 19 – will be a breakfast meeting at the Union Hotel. The Copper Room is booked for the Operatic Society’s latest production in the evening.
Directors’ Meeting – April 5! Recent speakers & programmes
Our most recent speaker, Nikki Mora, gave a very good powerpoint presentation on the super programmes she and Tim and Holy Trinity have built up for local young folk over the last seven years, at The Shed. It’s grown from a rustic workshop to a comfy fun complex with a kitchen, gym, games area, lounge and computer and video games room. Numbers of young people using the place have grown too – from 10 on a Friday to an average of around 70 each Friday night. Chuckle for the week

The Encore presentation from John McKenzie on his engineering challenges working in North Western Australia was super! From cyclones, to two hour waterfalls, to Rotary projects bagging salt for resale to swimming pool owners, to iron ore mining, distribution, and road and jetty engineering in 46 degree temperatures! It makes our climate look like paradise. Welcome home John!
